Church, Give Away, and Rat
Olivia woke up with a slight case of pink eye, something we thought was behind us, so Keith stayed home with her. Myself and other kids went with some of the missionaries to church. We visited a nice church this morning after picking up a few Zambians that work with ACTION Zambia (AZ). I think they were surprised at how chatty Alek can be. It was actually similar to what we are used to. We even sang a few familiar hymns, yet with a nice Zambian flare. Preaching good and nice people.
With Keith still at home I went to another missionary couples house for lunch and to look at things they had to give away. They will be returning home so they offered us some of their things. After seeing prices of common household items I am thankful for what they gave. We have been shopping to price things to outfit our new home, Camp Timothy (CT). We hope to buy a vehicle and major appliances this week. An example of contrast is washer/dryer very expensive even to Americans because they are imported as opposed to the pine dresser we bought along the roadside for about $40. Heather thought it really neat to buy things right out of the van.
Shouts came from the kitchen tonight as Keith killed a rat that has plagued the CT kitchen for months. Not bad for only being here four days! Rats in the house are not the norm but we hear this was a stubborn one. Enough excitement for this day.
