Workshop for Mothers

This past Sat. I (Linda) held a workshop day for mothers at the request of my helper, Dailes. She sees how I work with our children in home schooling them and she asked if I could teach her sisters and friends. So I wrote to a US friend for help and she sent many games and ideas. I did a devotional time about the privilege of training up children in the Lord and encouraged them to be praying for their kids. I shared ideas about spending time with children. We had a nice tea break and then made some educational games to take home. These will prepare the little ones for school and suppliment the older one's education. They said they didn't know they could teach their children anything! They seemed to be very pleased with the ideas. The difficult thing I learned is that out of 9 mothers 6 are single parents. Most have the support of their extended families but don't have the benefit of a living husband. The other reality that I found strange is that I was the 'older woman'. I've always thought of myself as a young mother etc. but here I was the oldest in the group. So now I get to teach the 'younger women'.

Hi Linda. I remember sitting in your living room in your country home in Oregon, IL discussing the possibilities of ministering to the women of Zambia.and then I read in your blog that the womens ministry has begun, with YOU! how wonderful for those ladies. God has surely blessed you all alon with wonderful giftings for such a time as this!
I am encouraged today that no matter what happens around us, God is indeed in control and guiding our paths. Prv 3 I will remain faithful in prayer for you and the family. luv you kathy paigen
