Burns in Malawi

Our former ACTION Zambia teammates, The Burns family, are now establishing ACTION Malawi. Right now they work through several local churches to give assistance to those caring for orphans. We went with them for a Christmas distribution of meat, rice, and other supplies. Mrs. Burns has made a good friend in Mai, a pastor's wife. They live in a small town in a very mountainous area. We found it beautiful and pleasant. We went to the market and a pottery shop. The Burns must go to the capitol city once a month for major food shopping because all that is in their town is a gas station type store. They can buy all veggies, flour, sugar, meat etc. locally. The kids had a great time together and on Christmas Eve we gathered to sing some favorite carols. We had turkey and were treated royally. It was a nice Christmas with our good friends. (Yet we really missed being in IL & WI for family Christmas.) We hope you enjoyed a wonderful Christmas wherever you were!
