Tour of US Embassy
Last week our home school group had the opportunity to tour our US Embassy here in Lusaka. After making our way past the tight security we were led to a conference room and addressed by Embassy personnel. We toured the many offices around the complex and then into the main building. Staff in each office explained the role they play. The US Embassy in Lusaka is one of the biggest US Embassy locations in Africa. They explained that because of the long history of political stability in Zambia it is a choice location. More aid dollars are also issued here because of the stability. We learned how agencies like the US State Dept., US AID, CDC, and other governmental organizations work together. This was a fascinating and interesting morning that I think the adults enjoyed more than the kids. We weren't allowed to take photos because of security.
