The Oriental Institute

I haven't blogged much lately but I had to tell you about this place. The Oriental Institute must be Chicago's best kept secret. I worked in Chicago for years and didn't know about it. The museum is on Univ. of Chicago's beautiful campus near the Museum of Science and Industry. It showcases antiquities from Mesopotamia, Babylon, Israel, Egypt and Persia. It is not huge and overwhelming but enough to see in 2 hours. We are studying the ancient civs and the bible in school so this was a worthwhile trip. See their website for children's virtual archeology dig with many of their treasures included. Check it out!
