Answer to the kitchen item debate

Hey, thanks for responding to the kitchen item debate. It is fun to hear from you! This started when I asked Kelly to get the colander out for me. Blake said, "Colander, what is that? I've never heard that thing called a colander." He said he calls it a strainer. We looked in the dictionary to see who was right. Both names are technically right but a colander is larger, bowl shaped and made from plastic or metal. A strainer is usually smaller and is made from small wire mesh. Most wrote in that they call it a strainer, although we do have some true chefs out there who support my name for it! HA.

Hi, I'm a friend of Susan's and I just read your colander and strainer debate. Just so you know....I have called it a colander for as long as I can remember.
