ARC Cards

One of Keith's responsibilities is to help the new teammates or should we say 'aliens'?, to get their Alien Registration Cards. This involves a trip to a government office and sometimes several offices. This is where old typewriters go to die-vintage WWII. One lady sits and types with one finger, stops, manually rewinds the good spot on the ribbon, and continues typing each card. She keeps the lid off to make it more efficient. They do take your photo but you may not smile - try that with your teammates cracking up! Then if your fingerprint doesn't work the first time (because the ink pad is dried up) then you can press over it several times until it looks like a fingerprint! Crazy. This all takes several hours but the results is the ARC card! ps. It has clouded over just now - will this be the start of rainy season?
