Tree of Hope

We spotted this gorgeous, lavender tree from a flyover (overpass) in the city. It stands on vacant land speckled with garbage and a few stands of people selling things. The area is sparce, ugly, like the death and struggles of the Zambians. Yet God gave this reprieve of beauty to this area. It is like God saying that He sees the struggles and offers His hope. Much of Zambia is like that with its dirt, poverty and hardship, yet foliage blooms in it's glory all around. A teammate captured this photo of the tree and had similar thoughts about it. Thanks, Mari!
